BEFORE DEPARTING WITH DOUG OWENS!
The
Cancer Aware Harley Dare
Updated on Saturday
This challenge was
offered to a monumental number of riders but only two accepted: Brian Winans
and Mike Taylor from McClure, Illinois. These two riders accepted the challenge
and stated they would go to any extreme to help in the fight against cancer. Not
only did Brian and Mike agree to do this but they are doing it on 2 of
Harley-Davidson’s most bare-bones models: a Sportster and a Dyna, respectively.
No windshields, no air ride, no fairings, no protection from the elements!
Bootheel and the two riders are in agreement, it’s not about them, it is about
bringing awareness to the fight against cancer. The riders will be riding from
Bootheel Harley-Davidson to Naples Florida non-stop for the first 1,000 miles
of the challenge having to complete it within 24 hours… failure is not an
option, but certainly a possibility. They will then start a second leg of the
journey through the Florida Everglades, Miami, Key West and Daytona spreading
the word of this epic ride to bring awareness to the fight against cancer. (The
total round trip will be approximately 3,000 miles) The question on everyone’s
mind is, “WILL THEY MAKE IT?” This is a serious race in the fight against
cancer and is not being taken lightly. Follow their progress and decide for
yourself! Stay tuned to follow the progress of these two young men
through the elements and hard ride to bring awareness to Cancer.
