MALIBU COUNTRY COMES TO TOWN - NOVEMBER 6, 2012
REBA'S SITCOM DEBUT GETS
BIG RATINGS
Reba's new TV
sitcom Malibu Country made its debut on Friday night and the
new show put up good ratings for ABC. Entertainment Weekly reports
that 8.9 million people viewed the premiere of Malibu Country and
the show had an adult demographic rating of 2.2. The show's demo was bigger
than the premieres of NBC's Animal Practice and FOX's Ben
and Kate and Malibu Country is shown on Friday, which
is known as a tougher night for ratings. The only other regular-time-period new
comedy debut that had more viewers this fall was NBC's Go On. Malibu
Country is part of ABC's new Friday night comedy block that includes
actor Tim Allen's show Last Man Standing that
debuted on Tuesday night last year and was switched to a Friday slot this
year. Last Man Standinghad 7.8 million viewers watch the season two
premiere on Friday and the show had an adult demo rating of 1.9.

The show is typical sitcom fare, and not anything to write home to Nashville about. But Reba is charming, and the other stars are fun too. Check it out, but don't expect an Emmy Award winner out of this one...
